El equipo de APA sigue dedicado a su misión de impartir formaciones sobre los diversos aspectos de la salvaguardia.
James (McTavish) estuvo de visita en la comunidad de Colombia e impartió un curso de cinco días titulado “Cuidando tu corazón” (cf. Prov. 4:23) al Curso de Formación (misioneros) sobre Castidad y Consagración. El curso abordó los aspectos espirituales y humanos del tema, e incluyó un día entero dedicado a la prevención de los abusos.
Posteriormente, como parte de la Formación Permanente a la Zona de Colombia (votos perpetuos), l@s misioner@s participantes solicitaron formaciones sobre prevención en todos los aspectos del abuso (abuso sexual, abuso de poder y autoridad, abuso espiritual y abuso de conciencia). Se trataron temas como la crisis de los abusos en la Iglesia, las nuevas leyes y reglamentos eclesiásticos, la sana vivencia del poder y la autoridad, así como el cuidado a la hora de escuchar el compartir (de conciencia) de los demás. A los participantes también les ayudaron las orientaciones de la mañana sobre el tema, haciendo hincapié en no tener miedo a enfrentarse a estas heridas en el cuerpo de Cristo hoy. “A veces sentimos la tentación de ser cristianos manteniendo una prudente distancia de las llagas del Señor. Pero Jesús quiere que toquemos la miseria humana, que toquemos la carne sufriente de los demás.” (Evangelii Gaudium, n. 270).
James comentó: “Ana Elisa (Ramírez Barrera) y yo hemos estado trabajando varios temas en APA. L@s misioner@s aquí en Colombia estuvieron muy abiertos a actualizarse en los diversos temas compartidos”.

The team of APA continues to dedicate to its mission of giving formations regarding the various aspects of safeguarding.
James (McTavish) was visiting the community of Colombia and gave a five-day course entitled “Taking care of your heart” (cf. Prov. 4:23) to the Formation Course (male missionaries) on Chastity and Consecration. The course touched both spiritual and human aspects of the theme, and included a whole day dedicated to the prevention of abuse.
Thereafter, as part of the Permanent Formation to the Zone of Colombia (perpetual vows), the participating missionaries asked for formations on prevention on all aspects of abuse (sexual abuse, abuse of power & authority, spiritual abuse & abuse of conscience). Topics included the crisis of abuse in the Church, new Church laws and regulations, the healthy living out of power and authority, as well as how to take care when listening to the sharing (of conscience) of others. The participants were helped also by the morning guidelines on the topic, with the emphasis on not being afraid to confront these wounds in the body of Christ today. “Sometimes we are tempted to be that kind of Christian who keeps the Lord’s wounds at arm’s length. Yet Jesus wants us to touch human misery, to touch the suffering flesh of others” (Evangelii Gaudium, n. 270).
James commented, “Ana Elisa (Ramírez Barrera) and I have been doing working on various themes in APA. The missionaries here in Colombia were very open to be updated in the various topics shared.”
